Musk Deletes Social Media Post Alleging Trump Link to Epstein Files

Amid ongoing events, some key social media posts have been removed.

The most controversial post from Musk claimed that Trump’s name appears in the files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased financier and sex offender, suggesting this is the reason for their incomplete release. He offered no supporting evidence.

Musk made this claim on Thursday via a post on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).

However, by early Saturday morning, Musk’s post regarding Epstein was no longer visible. X users were met with a message stating simply that the post had been deleted.

This isn’t the only post of Musk’s that disappeared. Another provocative post from Thursday, in which Musk responded “yes” to a message suggesting Trump “should be impeached” and Vance “should replace him,” has also been removed.

The deletion of these posts hints at a potential cooling down of the heated conflict between Trump and his former ally.

Musk’s initial posts followed Trump’s move to cut off government funding and contracts related to Musk’s SpaceX company.

While the situation seems to be calming, Trump has indicated he has no intention of reconciling with Musk.

When reporters asked the President on Friday night if he planned to speak with Musk, he responded definitively.

“No I don’t have plans… I’m not even thinking about it,” he stated. “I’m not really interested in that, I’m really interested in the country, and solving problems.”

However, when asked if he would reclaim the symbolic White House key he had given to Musk, Trump said he would not.

“I don’t take things back, I gave him a key, he tried very hard,” the President told reporters, commending the efforts of DOGE.

Trump also seemed to defend Musk against allegations reported by the New York Times that the Tesla CEO regularly used ketamine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms while traveling with Trump on the campaign trail in 2024.

“I don’t want to comment on his drug use. I don’t know what his status is,” Trump said. “I read an article in the New York Times. I thought it was, frankly, it sounded very unfair to me.”

Trump’s Air Force One comments came hours after he suggested that Musk had “lost his mind.”

Despite the removal of Musk’s Epstein-related allegation against Trump, the impact of the original post is still being felt.

The allegation led to calls from Democrats for the full release of the Epstein files, with prominent lawmakers signing a letter and issuing a press release.

Trump’s connection to Epstein is well-documented. In a 2002 interview, he famously stated that Epstein was “a lot of fun to be with.”

In July 2019, NBC News’ TODAY released footage believed to be from 1992 showing Trump hosting Epstein at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

However, after Epstein’s 2019 arrest on federal sex trafficking charges, Trump said in the Oval Office: “I had a falling out with him [Epstein]. I haven’t spoken to him in 15 years. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you.”
