MoneyHero Group’s CFO Resigns “`

Danny Leung, the company’s Group Finance Director, assumes the role of interim CFO.

A global executive search firm will assist MoneyHero in its search for a permanent CFO.

SINGAPORE, Dec. 13, 2024 — (Nasdaq: ) MoneyHero Group, a leading personal finance platform in Southeast Asia, announced that Hao Qian, its CFO, will resign, effective December 15, 2024. Danny Leung, the Group Finance Director, has been appointed as interim CFO.

MoneyHero CEO Rohith Murthy expressed gratitude for Qian’s contributions and wished him well as he returns to China. Murthy praised Qian’s work in improving the company’s financial operations, including restructuring, cost-cutting, and revenue streamlining. Murthy also welcomed Leung as the interim CFO, highlighting his suitability for the role.

Mr. Leung, a seasoned finance executive with over two decades of experience in various sectors, joined MoneyHero in 2024. His previous roles include Senior Financial Controller at Marga Group and Financial Controller at Kontafarma China Holdings Ltd. He also held positions at Lee Kum Kee and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Leung holds a B.A. in accounting from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong. He will collaborate with the executive team and board to ensure a smooth transition.

Mr. Qian stated that while leaving MoneyHero was a difficult decision, it was necessary at this time. He expressed confidence in the company’s future success under the leadership of Murthy and the board.
