Xiamen, China, Nov. 22, 2024 — In the presence of Brazilian Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, Luckin Coffee, a leading Chinese coffee chain, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency. This agreement expands Luckin Coffee’s June agreement to purchase 120,000 tons of Brazilian coffee beans over two years by an additional 120,000 tons. Therefore, from 2025 to 2029, Luckin Coffee will procure a total of 240,000 tons, valued at 10 billion RMB. This represents the company’s largest ever coffee bean procurement plan.

As China’s largest coffee chain, Luckin Coffee has become a significant importer of Brazilian coffee beans into the Chinese market, strengthening economic and cultural ties with Brazil. In 2022, Luckin Coffee announced plans to import roughly 45,000 tons of Brazilian coffee beans over three years. This June, the company signed a letter of intent to purchase 120,000 tons over two years.
Furthermore, Luckin Coffee partnered with the Brazilian Embassy this year to launch the Luckin Coffee Brazil Coffee Culture Festival, hosting tasting events featuring World Barista Championship (WBC) winners. The company also completed the Brazil leg of its “Odyssey to the God Shot (Global Bean Search Journey)”. Recently, Luckin Coffee opened its first Brazil-themed coffee shop and the Luckin Brazilian Coffee Museum, highlighting its dedication to Brazilian coffee culture.
Beyond the MoU, Luckin Coffee has established several key initiatives in Brazil, including the Luckin Brazil Office, the Luckin Brazil Grower Support Center, and Luckin Coffee High-Quality Coffee Plantation. These initiatives enhance Luckin Coffee’s upstream quality control and support sustainable coffee certification efforts, building a strong foundation for its global high-quality supply chain.
