he actress’s 75-year-old mom was found lifeless with several stab wounds inside her home in Quezon City in September 2014. Just a month after Sison’s death, Michael Flores, the victim’s househelp for 6 months, was arrested.

In December 2015, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court found Flores guilty of robbery with homicide. He was sentenced to imprisonment of up to 40 years for his crime.

While justice has been served to Picache’s family, the actress still sought ways to completely move on from the tragedy and find peace in her heart. Despite the pain it has caused her, Picache decided to do the unthinkable- face her mother’s killer and forgive him.

Five years after her mother’s death, Picache, who was active in prison ministry for many years, found herself back in the prison again, this time visiting Flores at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.

“While I was walking, when I was about to see him, hindi pa ako desidido… I mean… desidido ako pero ang pinagdadasal ko, ‘Sana magawa ko. I was really praying, ‘Please take over.’” Picache recalled during an interview with “Tonight with Boy Abunda”.

“Buong puso ko siyang pinapatawad,” Picache revealed.

But the actress’s journey did not end there. She intends to continue visiting Flores to help him in his reformation. Picache believes this will help them both heal.

“Now I should continue visiting him para yung reformation, para ma-restore both yung healing namin magtuloy-tuloy, kasi hindi lang naman doon tumitigil.”
