“Please be informed that the NQESH shall resume this year (FY 2021),” DepEd said in a memorandum published online by the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD).

The BHROD is now preparing for the alignment of competency assessment and examination with the standards set by the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH).

The preparatory work is in reference to DepEd Order (DO) No. 24, s. 2020.

“As DepEd moves towards competency-based HR, the NQESH will remain its primary mechanism to safeguard and gauge the competency and quality of the aspiring school leaders in DepEd schools,” DepEd Undersecretary Jesus R. Mateo said.

As the COVID-19 crisis continues, delay on the schedule and conduct of exam is expected.
