NUREMBERG, Germany, March 10, 2025 — Metirionic GmbH, a leading innovator in wireless ranging and positioning technologies, is excited to announce the launch of its Bluetooth® Channel Sounding Evaluation Kit for the Nordic nRF54L15 (DMK-54L) at Embedded World 2025. This integrated platform enables secure, high-precision distance measurements and real-time location services (RTLS) within the Bluetooth ecosystem.

This platform provides innovative product developers with access to an ultra-low-power, cost-effective multiprotocol radio that features an integrated MCU, 1.5 MB of NVM, and 256 KB of RAM. It also includes an advanced, high-performing distance ranging solution that mitigates multipath effects, delivering real-time distance estimation with accuracy up to 10cm. MARS, a sophisticated low-power signal processing software layer, operates seamlessly on Nordic’s nRF54L15 embedded MCU, an external MCU or processor, or a host PC. It ensures precise, reliable, and real-time ranging and location accuracy for applications in industrial settings, IoT, RTLS, logistics, and secure access. While useful, RTT is highly susceptible to multipath interference, leading to significant outliers that reduce accuracy. PBR improves upon RTT but faces challenges in reflective environments. MARS offers a superior alternative by utilizing the complete Channel Impulse Response (CIR) for highly accurate and reliable distance estimation, while minimizing hardware resources and power consumption.
