International Media Tour in Suqian Showcases Yanghe Distillery “`

SUQIAN, China, Dec. 18, 2024 — The “Dreams Connect the World” International Media Tour concluded in Suqian, China on December 12, 2024. The tour began at Yanghe Distillery, captivating journalists and photographers.

Inside the Yanghe Dream of the Blue Manual Class brewing workshop, media witnessed the baijiu production process and sampled the flagship product. This baijiu exemplifies Yanghe’s commitment to excellence, employing traditional methods and over 2,020 ancient cellars. Yanghe’s cellar cluster, comprising 70,000 cellars, holds a Guinness World Record as the largest baijiu cellar system.

Photographer Yolanda vom Hagen remarked, “I was amazed by the site’s scale and the traditional baijiu-making methods. Despite its 70% alcohol content, the baijiu is surprisingly sweet and smooth.”

This unique taste is attributed to innovation and a dedicated team of technicians. Generations of brewers, upholding traditional techniques and a focus on a “sweet, mild, soft, clean and fragrant” profile, have crafted a mellow baijiu. Yanghe utilizes a low-temperature process and micromolecule technology to ensure both palatability and high-quality craftsmanship.

Yanghe’s Suqian location benefits from exceptional natural conditions: “three rivers, two lakes, and one wetland.” The area’s mild climate and abundant water resources provide an ideal baijiu-brewing environment. Situated at 33 degrees north latitude, Suqian is recognized as one of the “world’s three major wetland wine-producing areas,” alongside Scotland and France’s Cognac region. Suqian’s history of brewing and its dedication to innovation solidify its reputation as a center for baijiu production.

Frank Hossack from Scotland commented, “It’s fascinating to learn that Scotland and Yanghe in Suqian are both prime global alcohol-producing regions.”
