Guizhou Culture and Tourism Showcased in Sweden at “Tea for Harmony” Event

STOCKHOLM, June 07, 2025 — A Guizhou culture and tourism promotion, “Tea for Harmony – Amazing Guizhou,” took place in Stockholm on June 1st. The event drew nearly 300 attendees, including Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin, Swedish State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dag Hartelius, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Sweden and Director of the China Cultural Center in Stockholm Li Rui, along with guests from Swedish society, overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded organizations, and Chinese students, all invited to discover the “Mountain Park Province.”

Ao Kemo, Deputy Director General of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guizhou Province, highlighted the province’s “resources, market sources, and services” and its unique tourism brand in his address. He clearly explained Guizhou’s distinct advantages, such as its rich culture, stunning natural landscapes, and the 240-hour transit visa exemption. He emphasized Guizhou’s dedication to becoming a top-tier tourist destination and extended a warm invitation to Swedish tourists to visit and see it for themselves.

Peter Hellman, a seasoned Swedish tourism analyst and senior advisor at Style Scandinavia, shared his positive experiences promoting Guizhou, drawing from his several visits there. Swedish travel influencers Mattias Lin and Axel Kierkegaard offered their perspectives on Guizhou’s unique tourism offerings, exciting outdoor adventures, and delicious food, effectively showcasing the region’s appeal.

The promotion featured exhibition booths showcasing Guizhou’s ethnic culture and a “Fragrant Guizhou Tea” area. A performance by a troupe from Guizhou Province’s Qiandongnan Prefecture was also a highlight. Guizhou, with its exceptional natural beauty and deep cultural roots, successfully revealed the charm of “Fascinating Guizhou, a Heaven of Myriad Mountains” to the Swedish audience.

China and Sweden marked 75 years of diplomatic relations on May 9th. Guizhou’s impressive presentations and displays at the “Hello! China” Dragon Boat Festival Garden Party on May 31st garnered significant local interest, further strengthening cultural exchange and friendship between the two nations.
