Asahi Group Seeks Net-Zero Innovation from Startups and Scaleups “`

TOKYO, Nov. 19, 2024 — Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. announces its new Sustainability Growth Platform, beginning with The Challenge (Environment)—a global initiative seeking startups and scaleups to develop innovative environmental solutions. This aligns with Asahi’s 2040 net-zero value chain goal.

Drahomira Mandikova, Asahi Group Holdings’ Chief Sustainability Officer, stated that Asahi’s commitment to sustainability is demonstrated by The Challenge and its focus on impactful partnerships. The company aims to accelerate sustainable progress through collaborations with innovative startups.

Partnering with Antler Ibex, Antler’s corporate innovation arm, Asahi will use Antler’s network and industry expertise to advance sustainable solutions. Mandikova added that they are prepared to support impactful ideas that advance their net-zero objectives in collaboration with Antler Ibex.

The Challenge (Environment) invites global startups and scaleups to address key sustainability areas, including:

Nathan Jackson of Asahi Beverages’ Circular Ventures emphasized the importance of venture collaboration, stating that he is inspired by the innovation in the sustainability sector. The Challenge allows Asahi to integrate the best ideas, supporting their sustainability efforts and enabling startup growth. They believe that meaningful change can be achieved collaboratively.
