Leading over 100 Professionals through Collective Nervous-System Regulation and experiencing a Sell-Out of New Book, “Overcoming Financial Trauma”

Phoenix, Arizona Nov 27, 2025  –  Rahkim Sabree, AFC®, a nationally acclaimed financial therapist, author, and speaker, presented a transformative keynote at the 2025 AFCPE Symposium. He led over 100 financial counselors, planners, and wellness professionals through an immersive, trauma-informed session focused on fostering psychological safety, strengthening connections, and exploring the developing field of financial trauma.

Sabree began the session by purposefully creating a safe environment for both himself and those present, engaging participants in a collective breathing exercise to harmonize the room’s shared nervous system. Referencing polyvagal theory, he highlighted that individuals seek security via connection, attunement, and non-verbal signals like facial expressions and body language—factors seldom recognized within conventional financial instruction.

During a memorable cultural interlude, Sabree introduced a call-and-response, drawing inspiration from Erykah Badu, and inquired of the audience, “Sistas, how y’all feeling? Brothas, y’all alright?”
He subsequently asked the introspective question: “Am I safe with you?” — then proclaimed, “You are safe with me.”

“I had never before guided the regulation of a room with more than 100 individuals,” Sabree stated. “However, by the hour’s conclusion, the powerful energy of the standing ovation confirmed that we were collectively addressing financial trauma — as a unified community.”

Attendees reacted with tears, embraces, and a profound feeling of security, solidifying the keynote as among the Symposium’s most impactful sessions.

Sabree, who recently published , has quickly emerged as a prominent national authority on the confluence of mental health, personal finance, and trauma.
