Seth Rogen has been a notable figure, but his triumph as lead actor in a comedy series for his performance in The Studio constitutes his first.
The Studio, which stands among the most nominated series with 23 nods, offers a satirical portrayal of Hollywood. Seth Rogen plays a Hollywood studio executive grappling with the tension between producing artistic films and prioritizing projects destined for commercial success, such as a hypothetical Kool-Aid movie.
The Studio co-creator Evan Goldberg disclosed that the series drew inspiration from an executive who once confided, “‘I got into this because I love movies — but now I have this fear that my job is to ruin them.’”
TIME’s TV critic Judy Berman described the show as “2025’s best new show to date, and one of Hollywood’s sharpest self-portraits in ages.”
“I literally prepared nothing, I’ve never won anything in my life,” he declared during his acceptance speech on Sunday night.
Rogen is primarily recognized for his comedic performances in films like Knocked-Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express, and 40-Year-Old-Virgin.
