The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 4.6 magnitude earthquake shook the Los Angeles area on Monday.
Residents across Los Angeles felt the tremor strongly. A medical building experienced shaking, and many reported rattling glasses and dishes.
This earthquake follows a 5.2 magnitude temblor that struck southern California less than a week ago, also felt widely in Los Angeles. The earlier quake caused no injuries or significant damage.
The National Weather Service stated that a tsunami is not anticipated.
Monday’s quake was centered near the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, approximately 7.5 miles (12.1 kilometers) beneath the surface.
