Xiqing District Publicity Department

TIANJIN, China, Nov. 24, 2024 — Over one hundred international participants in the Chinese Bridge Chinese proficiency competitions recently toured the Tianjin Huoyuanjia School in Xiqing District’s Jingwu Town, Tianjin, under the auspices of the Xiqing District Publicity Department. The visit provided these participants with an immersive experience of traditional Chinese martial arts.

The Tianjin Huoyuanjia School boasts a rich history, stemming from the Chin Woo Athletic Association, itself founded by the renowned patriotic martial arts master Huo Yuanjia.

Huo Yuanjia co-founded the Chin Woo Athletic Association in 1910. Celebrating 114 years, the association’s original principles emphasized the integration of martial arts training with literacy, promoting national strength through physical fitness – the core tenets of early Chin Woo culture.

For over a century, the association has experienced significant growth in membership and influence, expanding globally. With branches across five continents, the association now comprises 83 Chin Woo organizations, representing a unique and globally recognized cultural phenomenon.

Jingwu Town intends to utilize the Tianjin Huoyuanjia School, an international cultural exchange center for overseas Chinese, to further explore and preserve Chinese culture.

By promoting Chinese martial arts and Chin Woo culture, the town aims to foster understanding and appreciation of this rich heritage among international visitors, providing authentic experiences of China and expanding the global reach of traditional Chinese culture.
