Andes Technology Teams Up with proteanTecs to Integrate Performance and Reliability Monitoring into RISC-V Cores

TAIPEI, Taiwan and HAIFA, Israel, Feb. 25, 2025 — proteanTecs’ on-chip monitoring is now integrated with the AndesCore™ AX45MPV RISC-V multicore vector processor.

Andes Technology Corporation, a leading RISC-V processor IP provider, and proteanTecs, a frontrunner in health and performance monitoring for advanced electronics, have announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration allows customers to integrate proteanTecs’ on-chip monitoring IP into Andes’ RISC-V processor cores. Customers can use proteanTecs’ real-time analytics software to optimize performance, lower power consumption, detect errors, and improve system reliability during production and throughout the product lifecycle.

The partnership begins with the successful integration of proteanTecs’ monitoring IP on the AX45MPV, a 64-bit RISC-V multicore vector processor. This core, which features RISC-V vector processing and parallel execution, has been implemented in over a dozen applications dealing with large datasets, including AI inference and training, signal processing, and scientific computing, since its release in 2022. By pre-validating this IP integration, customers can easily incorporate this licensed core, reduce development time, and accelerate their time-to-market.

“proteanTecs provides the industry’s most complete on-chip monitoring solutions,” said Dr. Charlie Su, CTO and President at Andes Technology. “As chips become more complex, monitoring becomes essential, particularly in AI applications. proteanTecs’ data insights will allow our shared customers to optimize their designs, improve power/performance, proactively prevent errors, and deliver better products faster.”

This partnership highlights the commitment of both Andes Technology and proteanTecs to advancing the RISC-V open standard. According to reports, annual shipments of RISC-V-based SoC units are projected to exceed 16 billion by 2030.[1] Both Andes Technology and proteanTecs are active members of RISC-V International, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). Andes is a founding Premier member, and proteanTecs is a Strategic Member.

“With the rapid growth of high-performance applications, compute density, and advanced packaging—especially in evolving AI models and workloads—on-chip monitoring is now a necessity,” said Uzi Baruch, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at proteanTecs. “Partnering with Andes Technology—a key player in the RISC-V ecosystem and AI core development—extends the value of proteanTecs’ solutions to more SoC devices. These benefits extend beyond production, offering real-time monitoring applications that enable proactive error prevention and the ability to reduce power and increase performance during operation.”

Andes and proteanTecs will discuss their partnership at upcoming RISC-V events. Interested parties can contact sales@andestech.com for more information.
